Kirimas.com guide: Local Marketplace Listing Help for People Selling Their Own Items
GUIDE · Local Services · Active local service

Someone may have useful furniture or equipment to sell but dislike photographing, measuring, and writing listings. A listing-preparation service helps the owner present the item accurately while they retain control of the sale. This separates administrative help from buying inventory or handling a stranger's payments.

A small offer to test

Prepare photos, measurements, and listing text for five owner-supplied items. The owner posts through their account and handles messages, payment, and pickup. Offer those additional tasks only under a separate, carefully defined arrangement.

How to start

  1. Choose a category you understand and create a sample listing for an item you own. Include honest condition notes and clear dimensions.
  2. Inspect each item with the owner and record known defects. Use sold comparisons where available rather than treating asking prices as achieved prices.
  3. Deliver a folder with photos and ready-to-paste descriptions. Ask the owner to approve every factual statement.

Finding the first buyers

People downsizing or clearing a spare room can value a fixed preparation fee. Local organizers may be referral partners, particularly when they do not want to manage sales themselves.

Work through the economics

A $100 five-item package with $10 in travel and three hours of work leaves $90, or $30 per hour before tax, insurance, and overhead. Low-value items may not justify the service fee.

Contribution is what remains after the costs stated in the example; it is not take-home profit. Include unpaid sales time, setup, support, unsuccessful attempts, and any omitted overhead when deciding whether the idea is worth your time.

What can make it a poor fit

Avoid recalled goods, counterfeit items, and products you cannot describe responsibly. Do not guarantee a selling price or move client money through your own account.

How much work continues?

This is project income, often tied to moves or decluttering. Batch preparation can save time, but buyer demand remains outside your control.

Your first decision point

Start with items whose likely sale value comfortably exceeds the preparation fee.
