A template becomes easier to sell when it reflects a hobby's actual routines. A board-game collection, garden log, or reading-group planner can have clearer value than another all-in-one life dashboard. Choose a community you understand and solve one recurring organizational problem.
A small offer to test
Build one compact workspace with sample entries, a clean copy, and a short setup guide. Explain which features depend on the user's software plan and avoid unnecessary complexity.

One email per experiment. Full numbers, no fluff.
How to start
- Observe how hobbyists currently track the activity and ask what they repeatedly lose or forget.
- Build the minimum databases and views needed for that task. Test duplication into a fresh account rather than only your own workspace.
- Remove private information, broken relations, and unexplained formulas. Record a brief walkthrough of the first useful action.
Finding the first buyers
A demonstration inside a relevant community can work where self-promotion is allowed. Show the practical result before asking someone to adopt your entire organization system.
Work through the economics
At a hypothetical $16 price, 20 sales produce $320. After an assumed $65 in selling costs and refunds, contribution is $255 before tax, overhead, and build time.
Contribution is what remains after the costs stated in the example; it is not take-home profit. Include unpaid sales time, setup, support, unsuccessful attempts, and any omitted overhead when deciding whether the idea is worth your time.
What can make it a poor fit
Software features and sharing behavior can change. State the tested environment and do not promise lifetime compatibility without a maintenance plan.
How much work continues?
Delivery may be automatic, but onboarding questions and platform changes remain active work.
Your first decision point
Ask five paying users to set it up without a call. Simplify any step that repeatedly needs explanation.
