Kirimas.com guide: Caption Quality Checks for Creators and Training Teams
GUIDE · Freelance Services · Active service

Automatic captions can make a video look finished while quietly changing names, technical terms, or the meaning of a sentence. A caption quality service reviews the text against the audio and improves timing. It is especially useful for creators whose vocabulary repeatedly confuses automated transcription.

A small offer to test

Review captions for a fixed number of finished video minutes. Deliver an edited subtitle file and a short exceptions list. Translation, full transcription of difficult audio, and certification of accessibility compliance are separate services.

How to start

  1. Create a sample from your own recording with names, numbers, and background noise. Compare the automatic captions with a corrected version.
  2. Agree on spelling, speaker identification, and how to handle unclear speech. Never guess a technical term when it changes the instruction.
  3. Watch the final captioned export at normal speed. Check that captions do not cover essential on-screen information.

Finding the first buyers

Course creators, software trainers, and industry podcasters can value specialist vocabulary knowledge. Pitch the errors you can reliably catch rather than a generic claim that all automated captions are bad.

Work through the economics

A hypothetical $90 review of a short video taking two hours with $4 of costs leaves $86, or $43 per hour before tax and overhead. Dense material may require more time than a conversational recording of the same length.

Contribution is what remains after the costs stated in the example; it is not take-home profit. Include unpaid sales time, setup, support, unsuccessful attempts, and any omitted overhead when deciding whether the idea is worth your time.

What can make it a poor fit

A basic correction service is not a guarantee of legal accessibility compliance. Describe the checks you perform and refer broader audits to appropriately qualified specialists.

How much work continues?

A client glossary can make recurring work faster. Every new file still needs a listen-through, especially after edits change the timing.

Your first decision point

Time a paid sample before quoting a per-minute rate. Continue when audio quality and subject complexity allow a predictable review process.
