Kirimas.com guide: License a Workshop Curriculum You Have Actually Taught
GUIDE · Licensing and Media · Reusable educational license

A workshop can become a reusable product when another capable instructor can deliver it successfully. That requires more than slides. A licensed curriculum needs timing, activities, materials, teaching notes, and clear boundaries around who may use it and how.

A small offer to test

Package one low-risk workshop with a facilitator guide, participant handout, activity files, and a defined license. Choose a subject you can teach accurately and demonstrate.

How to start

  1. Teach the workshop and record where learners struggle. Revise the sequence based on actual observations.
  2. Have another instructor run a pilot using your materials. Capture the explanations they needed that were missing from the guide.
  3. Define permitted class sizes, reuse, modification, and redistribution. Make updates and support terms explicit.

Finding the first buyers

Community educators and small training organizations with the relevant audience can be potential licensees. A sample lesson and facilitator page help them evaluate fit.

Work through the economics

Three hypothetical $150 licenses produce $450. With $50 in direct costs, contribution is $400 before tax, overhead, and development time. If the package took 40 hours to build, the initial return is $10 per hour.

Contribution is what remains after the costs stated in the example; it is not take-home profit. Include unpaid sales time, setup, support, unsuccessful attempts, and any omitted overhead when deciding whether the idea is worth your time.

What can make it a poor fit

Do not imply accreditation or qualifications the course does not provide. Use original or properly licensed materials and obtain appropriate expertise for regulated topics.

How much work continues?

Licenses can produce repeat revenue, but instructor support and content updates remain substantial.

Your first decision point

Do not scale until another instructor can deliver a successful pilot without you filling every gap.
