A short-term rental host may already have a cleaner but still need someone to check supplies between guests. A restocking service covers a narrow operational gap: approved consumables, inventory counts, and a clear report. It should not quietly expand into emergency guest support or property management.
A small offer to test
Offer a scheduled supply check and restock from an approved list. Separate labor from reimbursed purchases and define spending limits, access times, and responsibility for unused stock.

One email per experiment. Full numbers, no fluff.
How to start
- Create a property-specific inventory with minimum quantities and exact acceptable substitutes. Agree on receipt handling.
- Coordinate access with the host and cleaner so visits do not overlap guests. Use a checklist and report damage without attempting unauthorized repairs.
- Reconcile purchases and remaining stock after every visit. Keep the host's items separate from personal supplies.
Finding the first buyers
Local hosts with more than one nearby property may value a dependable route. Start through direct referrals or a professional cleaner who wants to keep their own scope focused.
Work through the economics
A $35 service fee for a visit taking 45 minutes plus $5 of travel costs leaves $30, or $40 per hour before tax, insurance, and overhead. Purchased supplies are pass-through costs, not earnings.
Contribution is what remains after the costs stated in the example; it is not take-home profit. Include unpaid sales time, setup, support, unsuccessful attempts, and any omitted overhead when deciding whether the idea is worth your time.
What can make it a poor fit
Check local business and property-management rules for the actual scope. Do not handle guest payments, make booking decisions, or promise emergency coverage by implication.
How much work continues?
Repeat visits can create a schedule, but occupancy and seasonality change demand. Inventory accuracy matters more than adding more properties quickly.
Your first decision point
Use one property for a month and measure missed items, travel, and host response time before expanding.
